Simply delicious broccoli salad

sal·ad
[sal-uhd]
Any dish of cold vegetable or fruit

A while back I tried a very delicious broccoli salad. I fell in love and had to make it for myself. I've made it in a variety of ways by substituting some of the ingredients. I would like to think that this salad would even be tasty to the non-broccoli-eating picky eaters. It is simple with minimal ingredients but nutritionally it packs a punch.

Carrageenan: another unknown hazardous ingredient to force you to read the labels

carrageenan
car·ra·gee·nan
[kar-uh-gee-nuhn]
a colloidal substance extracted from seaweed, chiefly used as an emulsifying and stabilizing ingredient in foods, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals.

Recently, while speaking with someone who suffers from Crohn's disease, a chronic inflammatory bowel disease that causes scarring and thickening of the intestinal walls and frequently leads to obstruction, I was informed that carrageenan is being used to induce Crohn's in test subjects (rats).

Introduction to health and wellness

Health
[helth]
freedom from disease or ailment

I have been fascinated for a while with health and wellness.
After some serious thought I've decided to go back to school and study to become a naturopathic doctor.
But I'm not waiting till I start school to learn.
The Internet is filled with lots of information.
So I've decided to begin posting about the positive and the negative encompassing food, additives, alternative therapies, in hopes of creating a place for everyone to find the information that I uncover.
